For changing adaptors or adjustable clubs, please see the pages on this topic.

In traditional club heads, the shaft is fixed into the hosel using Epoxy adhesive. Always use high strength Epoxy (eg. Araldite Ultra) with at least a 20 minute curing time.

To remove the current shaft, use the same process as on the removing adaptors page.

To fit the new shaft, use the same process as on the fitting an adaptor page. The only difference being that the inside of the hosel should already be rough so will not need scratching out and after removing an old shaft, you will need to drill out the remains of the previous shaft and glue. To do this, find a drill bit which is around 7-8mm in diameter and fix the head into a vice (Cover with something to avoid paint damage) then place the drill bit into the hosel and drill at high speed, allowing the bit to remove the debris which is stuck to the sides, occasionally emptying out any debris. Do not apply excessive downward pressure to avoid drilling through into the head.

These guides are a very basic outline of club building and if anything out of the ordinary happens, consult an experienced club builder to avoid damage to your equipment or to yourself.
